Handle for the Ultimaker 3D printer (or other things). Idea by Martijn (http://www.thingiverse.com/Martijn). The version I printed didnt have all the edges chamfered (ouch, sharp!) and didn't include the Ultimaker text, so that has not been tested yet. It works like a charm, allowing you to carry your Ultimaker wherever. Of course I am not responsible for any damage (falling UM's) caused by using this! Use handle_straight if you want a straight bottom edge.

We consider an integer lattice quasiperiodic Schrodinger operator. The underlying dynamics is either the skew-shift or the multi-frequency shift by a Diophantine frequency. We assume that the potential function belongs to a Gevrey class on the multi-dimensional torus. Moreover, we assume that the potential function satisfies a generic transversality condition, which we show to imply a Lojasiewicz type inequality for smooth functions of several variables. Under these assumptions and for large...

In this paper we consider the discrete one-dimensional Schroedinger operator with quasi-periodic potential v_n = \lambda v (x + n \omega). We assume that the frequency \omega satisfies a strong Diophantine condition and that the function v belongs to a Gevrey class, and it satisfies a transversality condition. Under these assumptions we prove - in the perturbative regime - that for large disorder \lambda and for most frequencies \omega the operator satisfies Anderson localization. Moreover, we...

We derive large deviations type (LDT) estimates for linear cocycles over an ergodic multifrequency torus translation. These models are called quasi-periodic cocycles. We make the following assumptions on the model: the translation vector satisfies a generic Diophantine condition, and the fiber action is given by a matrix valued analytic function of several variables which is not identically singular. The LDT estimates obtained here depend on some uniform measurements on the cocycle. Our general...

An analytic quasi-periodic cocycle is a linear cocycle over a fixed ergodic torus translation of one or several variables, where the fiber action depends analytically on the base point. Consider the space of all such cocycles of any given dimension and endow it with the uniform norm. Assume that the translation vector satisfies a generic Diophantine condition. We prove large deviation type estimates for the iterates of such cocycles, which, moreover, are stable under small perturbations of the...

Consider the space of analytic, quasi-periodic cocycles on the higher dimensional torus. We provide examples of cocycles with nontrivial Lyapunov spectrum, whose homotopy classes do not contain any cocycles satisfying the dominated splitting property. This shows that the main result in the recent work "Complex one-frequency cocycles" by A. \'Avila, S. Jitomirskaya and C. Sadel does not hold in the higher dimensional torus setting.

The main result of this paper, called the Avalanche Principle (AP), relates the expansion of a long product of matrices with the product of expansions of the individual matrices. This principle was introduced by M. Goldstein and W. Schlag in the context of ${\rm SL}(2,\mathbb{C})$ matrices. Besides extending the AP to matrices of arbitrary dimension, possibly non-invertible, the geometric approach we use here provides a relation between the most expanding (singular) directions of such a long...

In this paper we prove the continuity of all Lyapunov exponents, as well as the continuity of the Oseledets decomposition, for a class of irreducible cocycles over strongly mixing Markov shifts. Moreover, gaps in the Lyapunov spectrum lead to a H\"older modulus of continuity for these quantities. This result is an application of the abstract continuity theorems obtained in [4], and generalizes a theorem of E. Le Page on the H\"older continuity of the maximal LE for one-parameter...

We consider an abstract space of measurable linear cocycles and we assume the availability in this space of some appropriate uniform large deviation type estimates. Under these hypotheses we establish the continuity of the Oseledets filtration and decomposition as functions of the cocycle. The same assumptions lead in [6] to a general continuity theorem for the Lyapunov exponents. This result and other technical estimates derived in [6], along with the inductive scheme based on the Avalanche...

We consider an m-dimensional analytic cocycle with underlying dynamics given by an irrational translation on the circle. Assuming that the d-dimensional upper left corner of the cocycle is typically large enough, we prove that the d largest Lyapunov exponents associated with this cocycle are bounded away from zero. The result is uniform relative to certain measurements on the matrix blocks forming the cocycle. As an application of this result, we obtain nonperturbative (in the spirit of...

We devise an abstract, modular scheme to prove continuity of the Lyapunov exponents for a general class of linear cocycles. The main assumption is the availability of appropriate large deviation type (LDT) estimates which are uniform in the data. We provide a modulus of continuity that depends explicitly on the sharpness of the LDT estimate. Our method uses an inductive procedure based on the deterministic, general Avalanche Principle in [4]. The main advantage of this approach, besides the...

We study the closed Hamiltonian dynamics of a free particle moving on a ring, over one section of which it interacts linearly with a single harmonic oscillator. On the basis of numerical and analytical evidence, we conjecture that at small positive energies the phase space of our model is completely chaotic except for a single region of complete integrability with a smooth sharp boundary showing no KAM-type structures of any kind. This results in the cleanest mixed phase space structure...

We study the Hamiltonian dynamics of a free particle injected onto a chain containing a periodic array of harmonic oscillators in thermal equilibrium. The particle interacts locally with each oscillator, with an interaction that is linear in the oscillator coordinate and independent of the particle's position when it is within a finite interaction range. At long times the particle exhibits diffusive motion, with an ensemble averaged mean-squared displacement that is linear in time. The...
